I've been reading comments for a while now, and it seems typical for people to reserve judgment on the game until Route C.

Although many of you fell in love with the game from the outset, it seems as if Route C is the game changer - or deal breaker - for you all.

During Route C the game allegedly achieves true 'greatness'. So my question is: what is about Route C that convinces you of this?

I've only just started it so please keep the spoilers to a minimum. I welcome general impressions and personal ruminations though.

    thanks

It's when s*** hits the fan and events escalate.

Pretty much all i can say without spoilers.

My t**s are in permanent party mode. They refuse to be calm.
If it looks like I'm s*** posting, I'm probably s*** posting.

Because most people, contrary to what some may belive, play Automata giving the main focus to the story and characters.......and until you play route C you still have to discover the real core of the game (and characters too), that's why.

To put it simply, in route A almost everything is "hidden" from the player's eyes (infact route A is actually my fav once you replay it after finishing the game completely, since you notice all the little hints hidden here and there), route B is when you start to "open your eyes to the truth", route C is when you put together all the pieces of the puzzle, finally understanding all that you have experienced till that moment.

"Remember, you can make anything as idiot-proof as you want, they'll just build a better idiot...."

The story in Route C makes the game go from an average story to a story that rivals The Last of Us in my view. The journey of Route A, gameplay-wise, I say is the best. With Route C being 2nd place. But the game would be forgettable in a sense without Route C's impact. The part you're in now will change the way you view the game and will probably make you remember the game years from now. Something I know will happen for me, and something that probably wouldn't be without Route C.

Now enough hype, go play it when you can and come back when you're done. Give us details if you can. I wanna know what you think when you reach certain parts.

Route C f***s with you, both metaphorically and literally. Too many mindblowing bits for the story (knowing NieR's story is a huge plus for

    Devola and Popola's lore

) and too many hard gameplay moments in the said route. Not super hard, but they're irritating.

A and B are really just exposition... The game doesn't quite follow a three act play structure where the first act is exposition, the second is the climax, and the third is the annulment... It kind of dispenses with the third act altogether.

I just love the way the game is constantly riffing on its own premise...to such an extent that its difficult to know what the premise was in the first place.

I've just taken over A2, and thought the previous fight in the bunker was just awesome.

.... I mean, the reasons why route C is such a game changer is are all spoilers.

If all else fails, use fire.

It's not a game changer, it just improves on the game. If you were someone who didn't really enjoy route a/b then the game just isn't for you and route c/d/e isn't going to change that.
