Introduction:
Welcome to my guide for NieR: Automata BECOME AS GODS Edition, developed by Platinum Games and published by Square Enix in 2017. The BECOME AS GODS edition was released on Xbox One in 2018. Humanity has been driven from Earth by mechanical beings from another world. In a final effort to take back the planet, the human resistance has fled to the moon and employs the android task force YoRHa to take back the planet. Nier Automata's gameplay boasts a graceful mix of melee and ranged combat alongside a pod program that provides unrelenting support throughout your journey. Nier Automata is unique in that you will play the game three times, from the point of view of each major android: 2B, 9S, and A2. This is considered one playthrough, as each portion is listed as such in chapter select. This game also features an achievement shop, where all non-story achievements can be purchased with in-game currency. This means that all achievements are technically not missable unless you do not wish to purchase them at the end of your journey. If you do not wish to use the achievement shop, keep Transcendent Being (15G) and Supreme Support Weapons (30G)in mind during your journey so you do not miss them. Without further ado, let’s get into it.

Step 1: Complete Route A as 2B.
During this step, enjoy the story from 2B’s point of view and do all side quests when they appear. While you only need 80% of the side quests for the related achievement, most side quests give you unique materials needed for upgrading weapons and pods. You can also tackle most of the endings listed under Transcendent Being (15G) as long as they are related to 2B. You can also take the time to knock out miscellaneous achievements if you’d like. If you plan on using the achievement shop, feel free to play the game at your leisure as nothing is missable.

Step 2: Complete Route B as 9S.
Continue the story, this time from 9S’s point of view. Once again, continue doing all side quests as they appear, as well as new endings unique to 9S. Keep in mind that 9S’s playthrough is where Supreme Support Weapons (30G) becomes missable, as you need to grind out a specific item before advancing too far into the story.

Step 3: Complete Route C and D as A2.
Once you have beaten route B, you will begin A2’s story. For one final time you will want to complete all side quests as they appear as well as all endings related to A2. Once you beat the game, you will obtain one of the two game’s endings depending on your choice. Once you have made your choice, use Chapter Select to return to 17-09 and make the opposite choice. This will trigger ending E as well. I recommend connecting to the internet if possible to obtain ending E, as it may be next to impossible without aid from other players' sacrificed save data. At the end of this step,

do not

sacrifice your data unless you have earned every achievement.

Step 4: Cleanup and Achievement Shop (optional).
From here on out, you can use Chapter Select to clean up any missing achievements and non-missables. You will also have access to the Achievement Shop in the main camp after completing the game, if you choose to use it. Achievements will be expensive; but you can save before-hand, purchase achievements, then load your save to keep your currency and purchase the rest. The Achievement Shop can be accessed by talking to the Strange Resistance Woman and chose the dialog option: "Request unlocking you-know-what."

Conclusion:
Nier Automata is a fantastic game that I would recommend to anyone. The gameplay is easy to pick up and the soundtrack is one of my favorites of all time. The inclusion of an Achievement Shop also allows players to play the game however they want. Whether you want to get all achievements legit or just beat the game at your own pace, you can easily obtain all achievements in Nier Automata.

[XBA would like to thank Puppys for this Roadmap]

There are 48 achievements with a total of 1000 points

  • NieR: Automata Become As Gods Edition Achievement Guide & Road Map (4)

    The Circle of Death

    15

    Have your body collected.

If you die at any time while in the main world, you will leave behind a body with all your currency and non-equipped chips. This mechanic is very similar to Dark Souls and it is vital that you return to your body as soon as possible and pick up your stuff. If you die again or wait too long, your body will disappear and you will lose all your hard-earned goods.

  • NieR: Automata Become As Gods Edition Achievement Guide & Road Map (5)

    Cherish Our Resources

    30

    Have 100 bodies collected.

NieR: Automata Become As Gods Edition Achievement Guide & Road Map (6)

    Online Connection Recommended

Throughout the world you will see glowing dead androids. These indicate players or androids who have died in this location. Collecting their body will give you a temporary stat boost depending on what chips they had equipped at the time of death. There are usually a lot near boss battles, especially in the Copied City, so I recommend picking up as many as you see until the achievement unlocks. If you cannot connect to Xbox Live, there will be a large decrease in collectible bodies due to not being able to see online players’ dead bodies. If you cannot connect online, I recommend finding a place close to a respawn point and dying over and over, collecting your own body each time. This achievement can be purchased in the Achievement Shop after completing the game. The cost of this achievement will be 100,000 G.

  • NieR: Automata Become As Gods Edition Achievement Guide & Road Map (7)

    First Errand

    15

    Complete your first quest.

Story related and cannot be missed.

Upon arriving in the resistance camp, you will be given some mandatory side quests. Completing the first quest will unlock this achievement.

  • NieR: Automata Become As Gods Edition Achievement Guide & Road Map (8)

    The Mercenary

    30

    80% of all quests completed.

There are a total of 60 quests in this game, so you will need to complete roughly 48 of them to earn this achievement. I recommend doing side quests immediately before moving on with the main story, as it helps you level up and earn weapon & pod upgrade materials. Side quests also quickly become unavailable as the story progresses, which is another reason to do them quickly. This achievement is not missable, as any side quests you did not complete can be mopped up via chapter select. This achievement can be purchased in the Achievement Shop after completing the game. The cost of this achievement will be 100,000 G. For a complete list of side quests, I recommend using the Nier Automata wiki [HERE]. All credit for this page goes to the FextraLife Community.

  • NieR: Automata Become As Gods Edition Achievement Guide & Road Map (9)

    Information Master

    15

    80% of all archives found.

There are a total of 56 archives found throughout the game, so you will need to collect roughly 45 of them. Archives are collectibles that are obtained through story progression, side quests, found in the game world, or inside hackable chests. My personal recommendation is to keep track of locked chests and do as many side quests as possible. You can begin unlocking locked chests as 9S, so you will need to wait until after Chapter 10 when route B begins to unlock them. You can find a list of your obtained archives in the pause menu under Archives. If you do not earn the achievement by the end of route C, take a look at the Nier Automata Wiki page [HERE] and clean them up via Chapter Select. All credit for this page goes to the FextraLife Community. This achievement can be purchased in the Achievement Shop after completing the game. The cost of this achievement will be 50,000 G.

  • NieR: Automata Become As Gods Edition Achievement Guide & Road Map (10)

    Destruction is My Job

    15

80% of all unit data unlocked.

Unit data is related to both friendly and enemy machines found throughout the world. As long as you are doing all side quests and speak with all machines found in Pascal’s village during any route, you should earn the 80% achievement without issues. It is worth noting that 95% unit data is required for a side quest and provides materials needed for upgrading weapons. This side quest is called

    Reconnaissance Squad.

If you have not earned the achievement by the end of route C, I recommend using the Nier Automata Wiki found [HERE]. All credit for this page goes to the FextraLife Community. You can compare this list with your unit data found in the pause menu. This achievement can be purchased in the Achievement Shop after completing the game. The cost of this achievement will be 50,000 G.

  • NieR: Automata Become As Gods Edition Achievement Guide & Road Map (11)

    Chip Collector

    15

80% of all plug-in chips collected.

Plug-in chips are what make up your android and give unique bonuses. Some can be purchased at vendors, while most of them drop upon defeating enemies. The chips you begin the game with also count towards this achievement. As long as you are killing enemies diligently, you should unlock this without issue near the end of route B or near the beginning of route C. Some chips have different percentages of the bonus awarded: As long as you have one chip of any percentage it counts toward the achievement. This achievement can be purchased in the Achievement Shop after completing the game. The cost of this achievement will be 50,000 G.

  • NieR: Automata Become As Gods Edition Achievement Guide & Road Map (12)

    Weapons Maniac

    30

    All Pod programs obtained.

There are 17 pod programs you can obtain in the game from various sources. Below is a list of each pod program and where to find it:

    • A080 Wave – Reward for completing the Wandering Couple quest found in the Machine Village.
    • A090 Wire – Reward for completing the Amnesia quest as 9S. This quest is found in the City Ruins.
    • A100 Decoy – Found on a corpse in the City Ruins, near where you start the game. This pod program is only available during route C as A2.
    • A110 Slow – Reward for completing the Data Analysis Freak 2 quest as 9S. This quest will be given to you by the Bunker Operator after you have completed Data Analysis Freak.
    • A120 Repair – Obtained upon completing the third quest in the Sorting Trouble questline. The first part is available as 2B or 9S, but the second and third quest are not available until at least route B as 9S.
    • A130 Bomb – This pod is acquired by completing the Find a Present quest. This quest will be given to you by the Bunker operator during Chapter 7 as 2B.
    • A140 Gravity – Reward for completing the Retrieve the Confidential Intel quest. This quest is found in the City Ruins and can be completed as 2B or 9S.
    • A150 Volt – This pod can be found as an item drop in the Amusem*nt Park during route C as A2. It will be near the tank you need to pass to get into the building.
    • A160 Missile – Located in the Abandoned Factory during route C as A2. You will need to backtrack all the way through the Abandoned Factory to the location where you first fought Engel’s Arm as 9S. This is the hardest one to explain with text so if you need a visual guide, check out this video by Michael Tynan:

    • A170 Scanner – Story related during Route A. This pod is also used to obtain Harvest King (30G)
    • R010 Laser – You begin the game with this pod.
    • R020 Mirage – Each of the following pods can be purchased any time from the Maintenance Store in the Resistance Camp on any route. Each one costs 10,000 G.
    • R030 Hammer – Purchased from the Maintenance Store in the Resistance Camp for 10,000G.
    • R040 Blade – Purchased from the Maintenance Store in the Resistance Camp for 10,000G.
    • R050 Spear – Purchased from the Maintenance Store in the Resistance Camp for 10,000G.
    • R060 P Shield – Purchased from the Maintenance Store in the Resistance Camp for 10,000G.
    • R070 M Shield – Purchased from the Maintenance Store in the Resistance Camp for 10,000G.

This achievement can also be purchased from the Achievement Shop for 100,000 G after completing the game.

  • NieR: Automata Become As Gods Edition Achievement Guide & Road Map (13)

    Tools of the Trade

    15

Any weapon upgraded to the highest level.

The highest level for any given weapon is level 4. There is a blacksmith in the Resistance Camp, but he is only capable of upgrading to level 3. In order to level weapons to the final level, you will need to reach the Forest Castle on any route. Located underneath a bridge near the Royal Chamber save point is Muramasa, who can finish upgrading your weapons and unlock this achievement. The vast majority of materials needed to upgrade weapons can be found at Emil’s shop, or the vendors in the Resistance Camp and Amusem*nt Park. If you need beast hides, those need to be farmed of animals in the City Ruins. Only one weapon is needed for this achievement, however if you want to earn Inorganic Blade (30G), you will need to locate and upgrade all 39 weapons in the game. This achievement can also be purchased from the Achievement Shop for 50,000 G after completing the game.

  • NieR: Automata Become As Gods Edition Achievement Guide & Road Map (14)

    Inorganic Blade

    30

All weapons upgraded to the highest level.

As mentioned in Tools of the Trade (15G), there are 39 weapons in the game that must be located and fully upgraded for this achievement. None of the weapons are missable, so you can get them in Chapter Select if missed on an initial playthrough. Luckily there is only one item that cannot be purchased with money, and that is beast hides found on animals in the City Ruins. However you will need a massive amount of money in order to buy all the materials needed as well as the upgrade costs themselves. One thing to keep in mind is that things get more expensive as the game progresses. Therefore, it is smart to buy items in route A chapters (as 2B) and sell items in route C chapters (as A2). This can even be abused in order to obtain infinite money through Thick Dictionaries. Here is a link to a money farming video by factor747:

For a list of all weapons and how to obtain them, I recommend using the Nier Automata Wiki [HERE]. If you need a location of each upgrade material, the Wiki page also details them all [HERE]. Once again all credit goes to the FextraLife Community. This achievement can also be purchased from the Achievement Shop for 100,000 G after completing the game.

  • NieR: Automata Become As Gods Edition Achievement Guide & Road Map (15)

    *MISSABLE*

This achievement requires you to level each of your three pods to level 4. This is one of the grindy achievements in the game, as each pod will require a lot of materials that need to be farmed from enemies and locational drops. This achievement is also missable, as one upgrade material is only available to farm at a specific part during route B. For beginners, I would recommend completing every side quest in the game, as detailed in The Mercenary (30G). This is because each side quest drops items that will cut down on farming time significantly. Once you get to route B as 9S, you need to look out for gold-plated enemies. They spawn in the City Ruins and have a lot of health. The tall golden Goliath Bipeds are the ones that can drop the part you need:

    Powerup Part S

. It is also worth noting that you need a total of 3 Powerup Part S drops for this achievement, however two can be obtained from the side quests

    Anemone’s Past

    and

    Robo Dojo

. These golden enemies, once defeated, will then move to the Flooded City, followed by the Desert Ruins. Lastly, they will appear in the Flooded City a second time. Make sure you have obtained at least one Powerup Part S drop before killing the final one once they have moved to the Flooded City a second time. Save and reload if necessary, especially if you did not complete the side quests or accidentally sold your Powerup Part S materials. Please refer to Pod Hunter (15G) for the locations of the two optional pods, as well as Inorganic Blade (30G) for a link to the location of all upgrade materials. This achievement can be purchased from the Achievement Shop for 100,000 G after completing the game.

  • NieR: Automata Become As Gods Edition Achievement Guide & Road Map (16)

    Ruler of the Skies

    30

255 enemies destroyed using a flight unit.

As you progress through the story, you will have several encounters in a flight unit as either 2B or 9S. These encounters are in the form of shmup sections. This achievement should come naturally as long as you shoot everything you see and do not actively avoid enemies. Should you somehow miss it, this achievement can be purchased from the Achievement Shop for 100,000 G after completing the game.

  • NieR: Automata Become As Gods Edition Achievement Guide & Road Map (17)

    Harvest King

    30

Materials gathered at a hidden harvest point 10 times.

After you obtain the Scanner pod program as 2B, you will be tasked to use it to locate someone. This program can also be used to locate hidden items throughout the map. While holding down the use button, it will begin beeping if there is a hidden item nearby. The beeping will intensify as you get closer to the item until you harvest it. Do this 10 times to unlock this achievement. If you cannot find anything on your scanner, try using it in different areas of that map or a new section of the map entirely. This achievement can be purchased from the Achievement Shop for 100,000 G after completing the game.

  • NieR: Automata Become As Gods Edition Achievement Guide & Road Map (18)

    Pod Hunter

    15

    All Pods found.

There are only three pods in the game, and you start with one of them. The other two can be located easily. Once you arrive in the Desert, look on your map for a red dot out on the dunes. Run up to it for your second pod. The third pod can be fished out of the ocean once you reach the Flooded City. Simply start a fishing session off the highway and keep fishing until you’ve caught yourself a long lost pod. Should you somehow miss them, this achievement can be purchased from the Achievement Shop for 50,000 G after completing the game.

  • NieR: Automata Become As Gods Edition Achievement Guide & Road Map (19)

    Desire Without Emotion

    30

At least 100,000 G in possession.

This achievement will come naturally as you play the game, as you will need millions on your quest to either upgrade all weapons or purchase achievements from the shop. If you want to earn some money early, look for albino animals in the City Ruins. Their pelts fetch a hefty price early on. You can also sell any item that says it is useless at vendors, with the exception of the Desert Rose needed for Emil’s quest later on. Fishing is also a third great alternative to make some money early on.

  • NieR: Automata Become As Gods Edition Achievement Guide & Road Map (20)

    Animal Rider

    15

Any animal ridden for 5 kilometers.

Before you can ride an animal, you will need to purchase a satchel and animal bate from the Resistance Camp. The satchel allows you to ride an animal, while the bait stops them from attacking you on sight. Simply hope on a moose and run around the City Ruins until the achievement unlocks. Should your pockets be heavier than your will to ride an animal for a few minutes, this achievement can be purchased from the Achievement Shop for 50,000 G after completing the game.

  • NieR: Automata Become As Gods Edition Achievement Guide & Road Map (21)

    A Round by the Pond

    15

20 different kinds of fish caught.

Fishing is a staple of any JPRG, so it is no surprise to see it here in Nier Automata. As you approach any water source, you can begin fishing with NieR: Automata Become As Gods Edition Achievement Guide & Road Map (22). Fishing is very simple and relaxing in this game, as you only need to press NieR: Automata Become As Gods Edition Achievement Guide & Road Map (23) as soon as the pod dips below the water to catch a fish. There are a grand total of 41 fish in the game, so you only need to catch about half of the unique ones. I recommend fishing at each spot 5-10 times when you come across a new pond, as fish can be sold for decent early-game money. Here is a list of fishing locations:

    • City Ruins – Right outside the Resistance camp.
    • City Ruins – Underground Lake near Emil’s house.
    • City Ruins – Sewers near the Amusem*nt Park entrance.
    • Desert Zone – Oil Field located in the far left corner (from the entrance of the Desert).
    • Desert Zone – Oasis: On the far side of the Desert (from the entrance), there is a hidden Oasis if you continue on through the sandstorm.
    • Amusem*nt Park – You can fish off the bridge near the building entrance.
    • Forest Zone – Multiple fishing spots near the waterfall as well as near the castle (yes, you can fish all the way down there)!
    • Flooded City – There are a lot of places to fish here and it contains the most unique fish. Try fishing near the exit of the sewers and then again off the broken highway. This is also where you find the third pod for Pod Hunter (15G).

If you hate fishing with a passion, this achievement can be purchased from the Achievement Shop after completing the game for 50,000 G.

    Online Connection Recommended

After obtaining both ending C and D at the end of Chapter 17, you will enter a cutscene with two pods speaking to each other. They will ask the player two questions, to which you should answer

    Yes

to both. This will begin the credits, in which the player must take part in an increasingly more difficult shmup with the names. Eventually it will get impossible and you will die, but you must chose

    Do Not Give Up

. After a few deaths, and continuing not to give up, you will be asked if you’d like help. Answer

    Yes

and you will receive a ton of help from players who sacrificed their save data to help others. Continue through the barrage of credits until you have beaten it, and you will unlock this achievement as well as ending E. If you cannot connect to the internet, you cannot receive help from other players, and the credits will be incredibly difficult to complete solo. Be warned, the game will ask you to sacrifice your save data. Do not choose yes unless this was your final achievement, as it will delete absolutely everything and you do not want that.

After beating route A, you will take control of 9S for the first time. The game will automatically send you into a hack to teach you the mechanics, thus earning you this achievement.

    A Scanner's Power

100 machine lifeforms destroyed by hacking.

While playing as 9S, you can hack various machine lifeforms. Each time you hack into one, it damages the machine or outright kills it. You can also hack unaware machines and cause them to self-destruct. Either method counts toward this achievement, and can be earned as early as the first couple of chapters you control 9S. As with most achievements, this can be bought in the achievement shop for 50,000 G after completing the game.

    Machines vs. Machines

    30

50 machine lifeforms destroyed by remote control.

Certain machine lifeforms can be remote controlled instead of damaged when you hack into them as 9S. Use these machines to kill other machines for progress on this achievement. A great spot is the Amusem*nt Park, as you can hack into the larger robots, wipe out the park, and reload the area to have them respawn. As with most achievements, this can be bought in the achievement shop for 100,000 G after completing the game.

    The Power of Hate

    15

50 machine lifeforms destroyed with berserk mode.

This achievement can be obtained as A2. Holding down both NieR: Automata Become As Gods Edition Achievement Guide & Road Map (48) and NieR: Automata Become As Gods Edition Achievement Guide & Road Map (49) will cause A2 to enter berserk mode, where her health constantly decreases but her damage output is significantly increased. Be careful though, as A2 will become stunned and very vulnerable to death once her health reaches 1. I recommend carrying a few healing items around while you work on this, and save often. I died several times trying to get this and progress is not saved should you falter. As with most achievements, this can be bought in the achievement shop for 50,000 G after completing the game.

    Wait! Don't Kill Me!

    15

    10 friendly machine lifeforms destroyed.

This achievement can be earned as early as Chapter 5 as 2B. After completing the Amusem*nt Park, you will enter a village chock full of friendly robots. Save beforehand and take them all out until the achievement unlocks. This is also required for an ending under Transcendent Being (15G), in case you want to wait until you are eligible for ending N. It is also worth noting that the friendly village machines will respawn if you kill them and there is no penalty in doing so. As with most achievements, this can be bought in the achievement shop for 50,000 G after completing the game.

    What Are You Doing?

    2B's secret discovered 10 times.

This is an awkward achievement, in both execution and trying to earn it. In order to discover 2B’s secret, you must peek up her skirt 10 times. This is harder than it sounds, as the camera is hard to maneuver into the proper place. I recommend getting up on a ledge, such as a higher building in the City Ruins. Then you will need to carefully pane the camera up her skirt until she bats you away. That is how you know you did it right, so repeat until the achievement unlocks. If you do not feel like being a pervert, you can purchase this achievement in the shop for 50,000 G after completing the game.

1 hour played with 9S in a certain state.

While controlling 9S, holding down NieR: Automata Become As Gods Edition Achievement Guide & Road Map (53) and NieR: Automata Become As Gods Edition Achievement Guide & Road Map (54) will cause him to self-destruct. This does not kill him; however it blows his pants off and leaves him in said certain state. His pants will be reset if you leave an area or fast travel, in which you can just hold down the sticks again to blow them back off. Keep doing this while you advance down route B as 9S and you will earn this while playing. As with most achievements, this can be bought in the achievement shop for 50,000 G after completing the game.

    Come Take a Look!

Emil's shop used for the first time.

You will first meet Emil on your way to the Forest Castle. He is a friendly little machine head that will roll past you and out of the shopping mall. After completing the castle, you can find Emil driving around in the City Ruins. He is easy to spot because his shop plays music as he rolls around. His face will also show up on the mini map while you are in the City Ruins. Smack him with your sword to get him to stop and you will be able to see his wares and earn this achievement. As with most achievements, this can be bought in the achievement shop for 50,000 G after completing the game.

    Naughty Children

    Emil destroyed.

This achievement is related to the hidden super boss of Nier Automata, Emil. For beginners, you must complete the

    Emil’s Memories

side quest. Please see Lunar Tear (15G) for more information on how to do so. Second, you must be a high level, as Emil is level 99 and packs a nasty punch. I recommend waiting until you have beaten the game before tackling this. More importantly, there is an ending tied to this achievement (ending Y) so please refer to Transcendent Being (15G) to make sure you do not miss that as well. In short, this should be one of the very last things you do in the game. Once you are ready, farm yourself up to at least level 80-85. The farming method I used was a similar one to this video by LTRT:

Remember that the golden bunny takes a massive amount of damage to awaken, but you will gain multiple levels at once for taking it down via hacking. Once you are comfortable with your level and have completed the Emil’s Memories side quest, you need to find his hideout. Emil will give you a hint as to where it is if you speak with him, so head for the NW portion of the massive crater in the City Ruins to find a hidden elevator. Down the elevator, continue through the very long and dark cave until you reach a giant drop. Have no fear, there is water at the bottom to catch your fall. After some more traversing, you will find another door which leads to Emil’s house. Approach the residence and pick up an item outside of Emil’s hut to trigger the next portion of this quest.

Now make the long trek out of the cave and return to Emil. Open his shop and close it, where Emil will mention that he had to hide his valuables in a locked chest. This means you must once again return to his home so you can commit theft once more. Hack into the chest near his hut and try to leave. Emil will confront you and the battle begins. This fight is much easier the higher level you are, so I recommend using the previously mentioned farming spot until you are 95+. You can also set your AI partner to aggressive so that 2B is maxing damage output. Once you have defeated Emil, you will earn yourself this achievement and can begin ending Y. Once more, you can buy this achievement from the achievement shop after beating the game. This one will set you back 200,000 G if you do not feel like tackling this massive quest.

    *MISSABLE*

    Online Connection Recommended

There are 26 endings in Nier Automata. The first five endings are story related and only one ending is missable: ending Y. The rest can be mopped up with Chapter Select or done as you progress throughout the game. The most important thing is to make sure you save your game often, and if applicable, before attempting any bad ending. Each non-story ending results in a game over and will take you back to your most recent manual save! Once you have achieved an ending, it will show up on your save file. Here is a list of all endings:

    • Ending A: flowers for m[A]chines – This ending is story-related.
    • Ending B: or not to [B]e – This ending is story-related.
    • Ending C;meaningless [C]ode – This is one of two endings you can achieve as A2 after clearing the game as both 2B and 9S. Once you get to the final battle in Chapter 17, choose A2 for this ending
    • Ending D;chil[D]hood’s end – This is one of two endings you can achieve as A2 after clearing the game as both 2B and 9S. Once you get to the final battle in Chapter 17, choose 9S for this ending.
    • Ending E: the [E]nd of yorha – Once you have obtained both ending C and D, you will be asked two questions from your pod programs. Answer yes to both to begin a final battle against the credits in a shoot-em-up minigame. Eventually the credits will become very difficult and you will die, but make sure to continue fighting. After a couple of deaths, the game will ask you if you want help; select Yes. This will cause a bunch of ships to help you beat the credits and achieve ending E. If you cannot connect to the internet, you will not be able to receive help and this ending will be incredibly difficult to achieve.
    • Ending F: mission [F]ailed – Obtainable as 9S. During the first fight with Engels in Chapter 1, you will get knocked out and need to repair yourself. Just sit there and let the timer run out.
    • Ending G: hun[G]ry for knowledge – Obtainable as 9S. As soon as you gain control of 9S in Chapter 1, do not enter the flight unit and run away to obtain this ending.
    • Ending H: a mountain too [H]igh – Obtainable as 2B or 9S. During Chapter 5, you will receive word from your operator that a Goliath-class enemy is attacking the city. Instead of following the marker, go to a completely different area, such as the Desert. This ending will unlock once you are far, far away from helping defend against the Goliath.
    • Ending I: no [I] in team – Obtainable as 2B. After you defeat the boss in the Copied City, simply leave the area before interacting with 9S.
    • Ending J: bad [J]udgement – Obtainable as 2B. During Chapter 9, you will enter the factory with Pascal to meet with the friendly machines. There will be a few machines with purple robes indicating royalty; kill them for this ending.
    • Ending K: aji wo [K]utta – Obtainable as 2B. During Chapter 6, you will receive an email from Jackass telling you to pay her a visit about a fish. Head to her location and speak with her to receive a Mackerel. In your inventory, you can eat the Mackerel and obtain this ending. Turns out androids are a little more than just allergic to seafood.
    • Ending L: [L]one wolf – Obtainable as 2B or 9S. During Chapter 10, the Resistance Camp will be attacked. A bunch of machines will assemble into a spherical boss fight right outside the camp. This is your que to once again run away from the fight, leaving the camp to fend for themselves and earning yourself another bad ending.
    • Ending M: break ti[M]e – Obtainable as A2. During Chapter 14, Pascal will call out to A2 to return to Pascal’s village because it is under attack. Instead of heading there, run far away from the camp until this bad ending triggers.
    • Ending N: [N]o Man's Village – Obtainable as 2B or 9S. This ending is achieved by killing all friendly machines in Pascal’s village, and can be done as soon as Chapter 5.
    • Ending O: just y[O]u and me – Obtainable after route A & B. As soon as you have finished Route B, you will be sent back to Earth as 2B and 9S. This is before you gain control of A2. You will land on the highway in the City Ruins and it will be foggy. Instead of jumping off and taking out the enemies as instructed, turn around and run away until the ending triggers. For Chapter Select purposes, this is listed as 11-03.
    • Ending P: corru[P]tion – Obtainable after route A & B. As you play out the sequences of Chapter 11, 2B will become infected with a virus. You will need to let the virus kill her before reaching the objective for this ending. It is worth noting that the virus will increase faster the closer you are to the objective, so I recommend approaching it until the virus is increasing at a faster rate.
    • Ending Q: [Q]uestionable actions – Obtainable after route A & B. As the events of Chapter 11 continue to unfold, your will take control of 9S. Your pod will mention dangerous tremors caused by an earthquake, and you will be tasked to rendezvous with 2B. Instead of heading towards the marker, run away to a different area, such as the Desert until this ending triggers.
    • Ending R: mave[R]ick – Obtainable as A2. During Chapter 14, you will enter the Abandoned Factory with Pascal. As soon as you enter, Pascal will be right in front of you, surrounded by some friendly robots. Attack the robots to trigger this ending.
    • Ending S: city e[S]cape –Obtainable as A2. At the beginning of Chapter 17, you will be tasked with entering the large tower that appeared in the City Ruins. After interacting with it, Devola and Popola will appear to help you out. Once they appear and the fighting begins, run away from the battle until this bad ending pops up.
    • Ending T: fa[T]al error – Obtainable at any time. This ending is one of the first you can get in the game. When looking at your plug-in chips, you will have an operating chip plugged in. Simply remove this chip to obtain this ending. Make sure to save beforehand in case you attempt this as soon as you enter the Bunker. I forgot to save myself and had to replay the entire prologue.
    • Ending U: deb[U]nked – Obtainable as 2B. By holding down and , 2B will self-destruct. Do this while you are on the bunker to kill everyone on board and obtain this ending. If you did not get this during the prologue, you can load up Chapter 6 via Chapter Select.
    • Ending V: reckless bra[V]ery – Obtainable as A2. At the beginning of Chapter 17, you will be tasked with entering the large tower that appeared in the City Ruins. After interacting with it, Devola and Popola will appear to help you out. They will tell you to hack the Tower nodes while they fight off enemies. Instead, just stand there without interacting with the Tower until this ending triggers.
    • Ending W: broken [W]ings – Obtainable as 2B. During the prologue (labeled Chapter 01-01 in Chapter Select), you will be flying towards the factory in a shoot-em-up section. Near the end, you will begin being attacked by a giant laser that you need to avoid several times. Let the lasers kill you for this ending. For me, I had to increase the difficulty in order for the lasers to kill me when I did it via Chapter Select.
    • Ending X: time to rela[X] – Obtainable as A2. As the events of Chapter 11 play out, you will finally gain control of A2. Right as you gain control, cross the bridge and leave the area instead of helping 2B. Unfortunately there is no save point so you will need to play most of Chapter 11 again once this ending is obtained.
    • Ending Y: head[Y] battle – Obtainable as 9S or A2. This is the only missable ending in the game. It is only missable because you can complete the side quest without letting Emil self-destruct, and the quest is not repeatable via Chapter Select. This is also the longest achievable ending in the game, as there are two major pre-requisites. First, you need to complete Emil’s Memories and fight Emil, as outlined in "Naughty Children." This is required for the final weapon in the game: Emil’s Head. Now, you must upgrade all 39 weapons to level 4 as outlined in "Inorganic Blade." Once your weapons are fully upgraded, Emil will give you a new quest: Emil’s Determination. He will mention that you’ve become super powerful (from upgrading your weapons) and will run off into the Desert Area. Follow him to discover a deep, dark secret buried under the sand. You will need to defeat this level 99 boss, which flies around similarly to the previous Desert Area boss early in the game. You should already be a high level from defeating Emil in the cave, and once more the higher level you are, the easier it is (I was level 96). Once the boss is defeated, Emil will start a self-destruct countdown of 10 seconds. For this ending, you must let Emil self-destruct, blowing up the entire planet. Congrats on obtaining the hardest ending in the game! If you are looking for this quest via Chapter Select, it is accessible as 9S in Chapter 6.
    • Ending Z: over[Z]ealous – Obtainable as A2. During Chapter 14, Pascal will call out for help near the Resistance Camp. Head to his location and kill the machines attacking him. After he thanks you for the assist, murder Pascal in cold blood to obtain this ending.

While I do not recommend it, you can obtain this achievement via the Achievement Shop for 50,000 G. Use this as a last resort if you miss ending Y or do not feel like obtaining all endings.

    Lunar Tear

    15

The place of memories has been visited.

This achievement is related to the side quest

    Emil’s Memories.

After completing the Forest Castle, you can find Emil rolling around in the City Ruins. Smack him so he stops rolling as speak with him at least once. Now make your way towards the shopping mall where you first met Emil. This is on the way to the Forest Zone via the Tower access point. Inside the shopping mall is a glowing flower. Interacting with the flower will cause Emil to pop up and the side quest begins. He will first task you with finding four Lunar Tears. Here is a brief explanation of this side quest. If you prefer video guides, please check out this video by omegaevolution:

    • Forest Zone: From the Forest Center access point, follow the river down until you see a clearing on your right. The tear is visible as soon as you jump up, inside a cave.
    • Amusem*nt Park: Fast travel to the park entrance and head through the park until you get to the alleyway with the item shop. It is in the corner behind the shop.
    • Flooded City: Head through the entire area, all the way until you reach the end. Down by the water you can fall down onto a broken portion of the highway and grab the third Lunar Tear.
    • Desert: Head into the desert from the Desert Camp access point and keep to the right. Follow the path until you can jump over a wall and down into a hidden cave. Follow the cave all the way through until you reach the portion of the map with the red circle, indicating a tear nearby. You will need to hop over the wall to get it. Trying doing a combination of jumping, followed by evading and double jumping to reach it.

Once you have all four tears, Emil will give you a key. The location of this is inside the shopping mall once more, right in the center. Head down the elevator and you will have visited the place of memories. If you do not wish to complete this tear jerker of a side quest, the achievement can be bought from the shop for 50,000 G after beating the game.
